Remove Background From Video is a web tool that removes the background from a video clip with AI. You upload an MP4, MOV, WebM or animated GIF (up to 60 seconds and 50 MB) and download it with a transparent background as a WebM, a ProRes 4444 MOV or a transparent GIF, or as an MP4 on a solid colour you pick. Audio is kept. There is no watermark and no subscription.

Who runs it

Remove Background From Video (removebackgroundfromvideo.org) is an independent project operated by Wang Wei (王维), an individual independent developer based in China. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the AI model provider or the hosting platform it uses.

How it works

  1. Upload. You add a clip, either as a guest or signed in with your email.
  2. Processing. The clip is sent to our AI model provider, which separates the subject from the background frame by frame.
  3. Download. The result is stored in our storage so you can download it. Guest results are offered for 3 days; results in an account are kept in the account.
  4. Optional finishing in your browser. "Change background" (with your own image) and "blur background" are composited in your browser. GIF colour-key mode runs entirely in your browser and uploads nothing.

Credits are charged by clip length (1 credit per second, rounded up per clip). If a job fails, the credits are refunded to your balance automatically.

AI model we use

  • Bria Video Background Removal v3, made by Bria AI.

It runs on fal.ai, an AI model hosting platform. Your uploaded clip is sent to fal.ai to be processed. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Bria AI or fal.ai. Results are produced by AI and can vary with the footage; fine details such as hair, motion blur or similar colours in subject and background may not be perfect.

Pricing

There is no subscription. You buy a one-time credit pack; see pricing for the current packs. Credits never expire.

Safety

You may only upload video you have the rights to, and the service must not be used for illegal content, harassment, or deceptive impersonation. See the acceptable use policy for the full rules and how to report content. Our privacy policy explains what happens to your clips.
